JÉRÔME EPINETTE
Jérôme Epinette is the perfumer behind the Eaux de Parfum 1900 L’Heure de Proust and Raku for Les Bains Guerbois.
Born in Burgundy, Jérôme Epinette developed an early interest in raw materials, aromas and the world of wine. After scientific studies in Dijon, he turned to perfumery and continued his training in Grasse. In 2003, he joined Robertet, the historic fragrance house renowned for its expertise in natural raw materials. Today, he works there as a Master Perfumer.
His approach to perfumery remains deeply connected to raw materials. Like a winemaker blending different grape varieties, Jérôme Epinette builds his compositions by combining natural ingredients with contemporary accords. Flowers, citrus fruits, woods, fruits and gourmand materials shape a style that is clear, expressive and modern.
THE FRAGRANCES BY JÉRÔME EPINETTE FOR LES BAINS GUERBOIS
For 1900 L’Heure de Proust, Jérôme Epinette imagines a suspended moment in Belle Époque Paris. Bergamot, pomelo and blueberry lead into an accord of black tea, violet and Tuscan leather. Guaiac wood, praline and vanilla extend this luminous and nostalgic composition, where the memory of Proust’s famous madeleine meets the history of the original Bains Guerbois.
With Raku, Jérôme Epinette draws inspiration from the Japanese ceramics found throughout Les Bains Paris. Lemon and black pepper illuminate a heart of fig and clary sage, before a base of Texas cedar, ambroxan and white musk. A woody and musky composition that translates contrasts of minerality, light and tactile softness into fragrance.
