DOROTHÉE PIOT

Dorothée Piot is the perfumer behind the Eaux de Parfum 1885 Bains Sulfureux and 2013 Résidence d’Artistes, as well as the Atmosphère Scented Candle for Les Bains Guerbois.

Dorothée Piot discovered her vocation at an early age following a chance encounter with a perfumer. Trained at ISIPCA, she began her career at Dragoco, then continued at Charabot before joining Robertet in Paris, where she works today as a perfumer.

Her olfactory style gives an important place to natural raw materials and contrasts. She enjoys working with raw ingredients, exploring their different facets and creating compositions in which each material remains clearly identifiable. Woods, patchouli, incense and aromatic materials hold a particular place in her universe.

THE CREATIONS BY DOROTHÉE PIOT FOR LES BAINS GUERBOIS

1885 BAINS SULFUREUX

For 1885 Bains Sulfureux, Dorothée Piot imagines the atmosphere of the original Bains Guerbois, which opened in Paris in 1885. Mandarin, rosemary and blackcurrant meet orange blossom and jasmine, before a base of incense, benzoin and tonka bean. An aromatic and enveloping composition inspired by the establishment’s Turkish, Russian and sulphurous baths.

2013 RÉSIDENCE D’ARTISTES

With 2013 Résidence d’Artistes, Dorothée Piot evokes the period when Les Bains was handed over to urban artists before its renovation. Bergamot, mandarin and peach open the composition, followed by jasmine, violet and papyrus. Sandalwood, leather and musks extend this colourful and creative evocation.

ATMOSPHÈRE SCENTED CANDLE

Dorothée Piot also created Atmosphère, the olfactory signature of Hôtel Les Bains Paris. Cardamom and saffron meet violet, cedar and papyrus, followed by leather, incense and tonka bean. A woody and spicy creation designed to capture the intimate and sensual atmosphere of the venue.

Dorothée Piot has created or co-created fragrances and olfactory creations for numerous international houses. Her creations include:

• Memoir Woman, Amouage, co-created with Daniel Maurel, a dark and complex chypre built around absinthe, incense, spices, leather and oakmoss.
• Chambre Noire, Olfactive Studio, a composition built around patchouli, leather, incense, violet, prune and sandalwood.
• Bois Datchaï, Maison Crivelli, a woody and fruity creation where wild berries meet black tea, cinnamon, patchouli, cedar and leather.
• Angel Eau Sucrée, Mugler, a gourmand interpretation of the iconic Angel universe.
• Criminal of Love, Kilian, a chypre composition combining cardamom, saffron, rose, tobacco, patchouli and incense.
• Spiritus Sancti, Trudon, a creation built around incense smoke, benzoin and labdanum, and one of the house’s olfactory signatures.

From Robertet to Amouage, Mugler, Kilian, Trudon, Maison Crivelli and Olfactive Studio, Dorothée Piot has developed an olfactory style attentive to natural materials, contrasts and the construction of accords. A sensibility also found in her creations for Les Bains Guerbois.
