BERTRAND DUCHAUFOUR
Bertrand Duchaufour is the perfumer behind the Eaux de Parfum 1978 Les Bains Douches and 1986 Éclectique for Les Bains Guerbois.
Bertrand Duchaufour began his career in 1985 at Lautier Florasynth, first in Grasse and then in Paris. He worked alongside perfumers including Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Michel Almairac and Dominique Ropion, before continuing his career at Créations Aromatiques and later Symrise. In 2008, he became an independent perfumer and developed an extensive body of work in niche and high perfumery.
His olfactory style is built on contrasts, tension and the richness of raw materials. He is particularly drawn to davana, iris, incense, oud, patchouli and osmanthus. His compositions often combine powerful materials with precise, balanced structures.
His collaboration with Les Bains Guerbois also has a personal dimension. Bertrand Duchaufour frequented Les Bains Douches in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. His experience of the venue, its nights and its energy directly informs his creations for the Maison.
THE FRAGRANCES BY BERTRAND DUCHAUFOUR FOR LES BAINS GUERBOIS
For 1978 Les Bains Douches, Bertrand Duchaufour evokes an endless night in the legendary Parisian club. Yuzu, a whisky accord and davana meet rose, heliotrope and blond tobacco over a base of Atlas cedar, myrrh and vanilla. A sensual, addictive composition inspired by the early years of Les Bains Douches.
With 1986 Éclectique, Bertrand Duchaufour evokes the eclectic spirit of nights at Les Bains and Marilyn, who selected the personalities admitted to the club each evening. Yellow mandarin, cardamom and davana meet geranium, honey and leather, followed by tobacco, patchouli and amber.

L’ENTROPISTE, BERTRAND DUCHAUFOUR’S PERFUME HOUSE
Today, Bertrand Duchaufour develops his own vision of perfumery through L’Entropiste. The house places imbalance, contrast and the transformation of materials at the heart of its creative process. Duchaufour explores a form of harmony born from deliberately created tensions between ingredients.
With creations such as Semence Douce, Altamura, Dorian’s Spleen, Jodhpur 6AM and Ensang Noir, he continues under his own name an olfactory exploration developed over several decades.
From Givenchy to Acqua di Parma, Comme des Garçons, L’Artisan Parfumeur, Amouage and Penhaligon’s, through to L’Entropiste, Bertrand Duchaufour has developed an olfactory style based on contrasts, raw materials and creative freedom. An approach also found in his creations for Les Bains Guerbois.
